Plant a Row for the Hungry
University of Illinois Extension-Winnebago County Master Gardeners will be at the Edgebrook Farmers Market collecting gardeners’ over-abundance of produce for donation to local area food pantries. Donations can be dropped off from 10A-12P every Wednesday July 12th through September 27th.
Through the national Plant a Row for the Hungry program, the U of I Extension encourages gardeners to “plant an extra row” of vegetables in their gardens with the intent to donate the extra produce to those in need.
Find more information on the local Plant a Row for the Hungry campaign here.
